We all travel and explore places, stay in great hotels, click pictures with nature, relax and return. Ours was one too but this time was exclusively to the stay. Seldom do we find a home in a hotel but we found home and family in @himalaica. Please wait to read the details of this beautiful place in our next blog but I can't wait to thank @himalaica for being such a great host. Thank you for the warmth and care!

@Regran_ed from @prahladraj1 - Just thinking of my adventure trip from Frankfurt to Stockholm. Flying Ryan Air (or any low cost airline) in Europe may not always be the best option.
Once, I took an evening flight and arrived at Nyköping Airport, 100kms away from Stockholm City. I did my research before so I took an airport bus to the railway station only to find the station locked. The last train had left and next train is only in the morning so took another bus to Nyköping bus station to check out bus options. But the first bus was only after 6.
I roamed around the streets of a small town trying to find a hostel for the night. All I could find was couple of expensive hotels.
So I decided the best option would be to wait at the bus station the entire night. A guy from Saudi Arabia was visiting his brother also ended up at the bus station. Only two of us sitting like owls in the dark. I was a bit hesitant to strike a conversation initially. But we just started talking and had a night long conversation. He didn't have any euros so we exchanged currency.
I didn't know what I would have done alone. Later we were joined by some locals who came to the bus station after partying.
Finally the ordeal ended and I took the first bus to the city but was very sleepy. Just went to a cafe and slept on the couch for an hour. Had a coffee and later started exploring the city.
An unforgettable night. .

If you are my friend then you can't be friends with many. I will be possessive of you and you have to deal with it. Period.

// 35 // The Approach to Machu Picchu
We woke up early-and I mean early. It was about 3:30am. We were dressed in rain gear, headlamps blazing, packs all ready to go for the final downhill hike to the Sun Gate—the ‘classic’ view of Mach Picchu.
It was a strange start. We were standing in the middle of a cloud that was wrapping the valley, and huge raindrops were whistling in all directions around us. The small light beacon headlamps bounced as groups were rolling out and down the trail. We were hoping that the weather wasn’t a bad omen for what lay ahead.
When it was our time slot to begin the hike, we took off at the fastest pace yet. The horizon was starting to lighten up, giving us a a better view of our surroundings. We were suddenly in a much more tropical setting on this side of the valley, and it the plants and weather took on that of a rainforest. Water was collecting on everything with the temperature far below the dew point, but the footing was good, and the spirits were high.
We finally made it to the Sun Gate, excited to see what we had trudged all this way for. We climbed that last ladder of steps, and...Nothing. But. Clouds.
Our guides told us not to worry, though. Weather didn’t tend to hang around in this microclimate, so we started to our destination, unable to see 100 feet in front of us.
There were a few faces of disappointment in the group. However, I felt a certain magic as we hiked forward, as this ancient and mystical city was slowly revealing Itself to us through the clouds, contemplating the opportunities that I, as a photographer, might have.

It’s been nice to be around people that are so similar to me during my birthday month. I’ve been thinking a lot about who I am/ where I came from. Many people mistaken me for a Nepali here. I can’t help but to think about my Grandfather who served in WWI alongside Gorkha soldiers within the British Indian Army, especially while trekking through Gurung villages of Sikles and Tanting that made up the original Gorkha kingdom. I picture my Grandfather- who I only know from a few black and white photos dressed in Military uniform; fighting along side the Gurungs - the Gorkha tribes. #whoami#midlifecuriosity not #crisis#heritage#bangladeshi#dna#ancestors#genes#yearolder
