These #sundaynightthoughts brought to you by a rather weary mama. Both of my kiddos spiked fevers this afternoon. Praying that they recover quickly and get rest tonight. 🙏🏻 On that note:
1. I’ve been reciting this verse in my head over and over today. “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV. It’s not easy having one sick kiddo. Let alone two. Especially after just recovering myself. But God’s grace really is sufficient. And knowing that this moment will not last forever also helps. 💗
2. Even though this week threw some curveballs my way, I’m still so happy that I adapted and was able to successfully run 23 miles (w/ 9 more today), complete a strength session and a yoga session. Adaptability and moving forward have been so helpful in maintaining a positive mindset. Again, I tell myself. This won’t be forever.
3. I had a great PT appointment Thursday night. He helped me address the weaknesses in my glutes, calves and feet. I walked out with a bunch of new resistance bands and some new exercises to try. Adding the band for bridges for abduction/addiction will also hit my hips. 👌🏻
That’s all for tonight. Your turn! Tell me one thing you’re looking forward to this week! For me, a healthy household will do just fine. 😆

Hey friend I hope you’re enjoying a well deserved #selfcaresunday . Mine has consisted of caring for my two small sick boys. A case of bronchitis and a cold are no fun. 🤒 But we’ve got all of the #goodthings and remedies going. 🌱 No matter what there is always good around. Enjoy it friend. ✨

Even big boys need mommy. 👩👦
Eric & I realized on the way home from ⛪ today that Connor has pink 👀. Poor little man is going to be having a night at home with Daddy instead of seeing Oma & eating birthday 🎂. .
While I hate it when my kids are sick 🤧, I love how they turn into cuddle bears 🐻. I'm a big hugger for sure, and little men need even more hugs and kisses when they feel down. .
Are you a "I wanna hug" (like Connor just told me) type of person or do you prefer some space?
Thank you to @wcatcharity_official
for sharing Rios story on the final day of Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week! 💛 .
“Rio had a rare procedure and could only have the produre at a particular hospital. This boy is a heart stealer as well as a heart warrior!
Here Rio about to go into surgery (3 weeks ago)
He had a procedure that repositioned an artery that was compressing his windpipe, he had just 2mm to breathe through.
This was caused by a double aortic arch, which is a defect of the heart! It’s a rare procedure and only done at GOSH, where they do around 20 a year for the whole country.” #chdawareness#chdwarrior#chd#congenitalheartdefect#heartwarrior#heartbreaker#wouldntchangeathing#heart#brave
Still in hospital with the little one hence why I’ve been quiet this week. They think it might be hsp but they aren’t too sure. He can only move his left arm, all his joints hands and feet are swollen was treated for sepsis, and strep tested for leukaemia, meningitis both negative. Going for surgery tomorrow to have the fluid taken and tested from his knees. Hopefully he starts feeling better soon. He’s covered I a rash too. Poor wee poppet. #sickkids#hsp#poorbaby#bloodvessels#swollenjoints#childhoodarthritis#genetics#rss#awareness#singlemumlife
We are hoping for good results tomorrow! Noah has been on IV antibiotics for a week and if all is well, we can switch to oral antibiotics which means we can go HOME!
We have been @sickkidstoronto for a week now. A week of stress and worry. As a parent if you think something is wrong, please push for an answer until you feel comfortable. Don't worry about how you come across. Your child's health is much more important than how you are perceived.
The reason I was taken seriously, after a month of trying to have someone listen to me, was because I said I am not leaving the hospital and they can call security if they want. Only after I kept repeating myself did they take action and Noah was actually treated for a bone infection.
Our kids are not numbers and doctors need to learn to listen to parents. We know our children best.
My babies 💕💙 they’ve both been sick on and off this last week, I’ve stayed home from work to take care of them and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Even as sick as Hannahs been she’s still a bright light! That girl knows happiness! She makes up for her brothers crankiness lol coopa chuups been a our little destructo baby leaving a mess everywhere he goes, but learning so much as he plays!
While getting their vaccinations the nurse said she couldn’t believe how strong their bond was already as Cooper cried more hearing his sister cry then getting his own needles 💕

I've managed to gluten myself yay! 🙄
It's going to be painful later.
In other mire interesting news I went to the local garden center here and they have a y. Most beautiful Alice in wonderland tea service. I wish I had somewhere to keep it.
Both my boys are sick AGAIN! I am sure these multi vitamin chews are not doing anything for them.
So there is a house of the coughing and sneezing, it's wonderful.
For my outing today I wore my @masumiheadwear Michelle in grey my @lush_wigs lace front called Saturn. I was really feeling the pink and purple today.
I also had on my faithful DM mid length boots. Which are covered in wild flower print. I've had them forever and refuse to throw them out.
We were meant to be at a concert today to see @watotochurch however the boys cried on our short trip. To the garden centre and the older one fell asleep in the car so I passed my tickets on to some friends who I am sure will. Have a grand time.

2 important things here.
Have you found a good Come, Follow Me rhythm? In this season of life for us, Sunday’s are best for Family Home Evenings. It’s quick with 4 little kids, and normally only my oldest is listening, but we teach the week’s lesson and then discuss it throughout the week. Living Scriptures online has some good Come Follow Me videos for kids too.
My biggest win is when my oldest comes home from Primary and says, “we learned the same things we already did at home.” He might feel bored and want something new, but he’s retaining the information!
I’m grateful for this program, especially on weeks that my kids are sick so we can still get it in.
Next. Trader Joe’s Chili Lime seasoning. It’s the best, with completely clean ingredients. Who is with me? Avocado toast, guacamole, tacos, I’m obsessed. I’m one of the few that doesn’t actually like the Everything But the Bagel seasoning, so it took me longer to get this one. Do you have a favorite use for it? Share!
We're having a lovely time in London with family 💜
SO much better than the last time we were in London...
A year and 4 months ago we got on a plane and came to London to meet with surgeons at Great Ormond Street Hospital to learn about a procedure that is only done there - Spring Assisted Surgery for Craniosynostosis. This is where they make a strip in the skull and add springs to widen the skull over around 4 months and then they are taken out again. The procedure is smaller than the full CVR surgery, but it is 2 procedures rather than 1.
We wanted to get all the possible information and outcomes about Zoey's condition so we could make the best and the most informed decision as her parents.
But instead of getting to to that appointment with the surgeons Zoey came down with a really nasty virus, she was only 4 months old at the time and she had a terribly high fever, vomiting and bright green diarrhoea. So we spent the day trying to get someone to see us in London to get her checked out. Turns out to not be that easy in London, our friend's (who we were staying with) doctor refused to see us because they were too busy, even though legally they have to because she was under 6 months, but they hung up the phone on us. We walked to a pharmacy, then a walk in clinic where we we rushed the the emergency department because of her symptoms and her craniosynostosis. She was wrongly diagnosed with tonsilitis and given anti biotics and we were told to just keep trying to give her Calpol. She wouldn't keep anything down and I decided to keep her as comfortable as possible and just get her back to Inverness the next day where she would receive better care and attention. By the time we got back to Inverness she was dehydrated and admitted to hospital where they said she did not have tonsilitis but a nasty stomach virus which would have been made worse by the anti biotics. She soon picked up.
But my goodness it was so stressful, being so worried about her being so poorly and the stress of this big decision looming over our heads and the travelling with this little innocent, unsettled and poorly baby was all too much. (Continued in comments)
I usually take Sundays or the weekends to not have my chin on my chest in scroll mode, for mental health and family worship. •
But after a full night of two stuffy nosed crying toddlers and a snoring and sick partner I’m taking some scroll, shower and meditation time...
I saw this and said yes please...love thyself today...
You too, give yourself a little hug and love you today
Posted @withrepost • @forwomenwhoroar When’s the last time you gave yourself a hug? Take a moment to check in, feel your heartbeat, notice and breath, and hold yourself. The healing is within you. 💫 Beautiful artwork by @libbyvanderploeg 😘.
Emery was born with a seizure disorder. Her seizures did not happen often, but they were nearly impossible to stop once they started. This has led to four life flights, several medically induced comas, and almost losing her. On February 28, 2018 our two year old daughter had surgery on her brain to stop the dangerous seizures she was having. But she didn’t wake up after surgery. She had a bleed in her brain that caused her to have two strokes—one of which was in her brain stem. This life-saving surgery ended up stripping her of nearly every ability. •• I don’t know who picked up my phone and snapped this photo, but I’m so grateful for it. This was our reality nine months ago. So many of the images I have posted of Eme in the hospital have been pictures of us smiling, holding each other and trying to make the best out of a heartbreaking situation. •• But then there are images like this which capture so much of what we have felt these last few months. This picture is raw and I feel vulnerable every time I look at it. We look broken. We feel broken. •• We have felt everything from immense grief to intense joy throughout this journey. Emery slowly continues to make progress, and we are learning more every day about God’s infinite goodness in our lives despite the hard things that have come our way. •• Most days I still feel like the broken mom in this picture. But being broken is okay. It has taught me to feel a love that is deeper and stronger than I ever would have felt otherwise. Having challenges gives us the chance to rise from a broken heart to live a life full of hope. So to whoever took this photo, thank you for capturing our vulnerability. It’s okay to grieve, hurt, love deeper and feel more. I can’t yet say I’m grateful for this trial, but I’m grateful for the chance it’s given me to love more.
Monumental milestone for Elizabeth today. Today marks her last day in her Pavlik Harness for hip dysplasia treatment! We are beyond excited for her to finally be on the move and put this behind us. It’s been a long 5 months commuting back and forth from Germany to SickKids in Toronto, but 1,000% worth it. Being a parent has taught us so many things these past 6 months, one of those things is knowing that there is no sacrifice too great for your own children and we will always do what’s best for her. #hipdysplasia#pavlikharness#sickkids#thankyousickkids#elizabethgracejoslin#happiestbabyever#familyfirst

Anyone else’s house completely wrecked by alllll the illness and germs this season?? We cannot catch a break! They now know my voice on the phone at the pediatrician 😂. We had “well checkups” this week, which is funny because they were both sick✨, but I thought it was a good time for a Life Update: The Toddler Years. Now live on the blog! #linkinbio What are you doing to stay healthy this winter?? 👇🏻❓🌡🧼💉🍎🍊🍷🍷🍷
