Let’s talk plywood. Typically we use Zip System sheathing on most of our builds. This project called for starter row of PT (pressure treated) plywood with CCX (also pressure treated) plywood for the remainder of the house. PT was used on the first row because it’s closest to the ground where it can pick up moisture. The CCX was used elsewhere as an upgrade from non pressure treated plywood. The entire building envelope was wrapped with Solitex Mento 1000, a three-layer air tight, waterproof, vapor-permeable house wrap we purchased thru @foursevenfivedotcom ...
Ever wonder what the three-letter codes of plywood means?
1st Letter: is code for the face (the “good” side)
2nd Letter: is code for the backside
3rd Letter: indicates whether plywood is suitable for interior or exterior.
Grades of plywood are A, B, C, D with A being the best quality and D containing the maximum number of blemishes. ...
It’s also worth noting that only softwood can be pressure treated, hardwood cannot. ...

“I know I know, you expect the project so clean you could eat off the subfloor.” 🍽
This was the comment one of my project managers said to me during a meeting today when I asked him if the house was ready for wallboard.
Before we insulate a house it is completely swept out and we vacuum each stud bay and even the backside of the exterior sheathing. We sweep and vacuum again before wall board gets hung. This eliminates wood shavings, dust, and debris from getting trapped in the walls. These simples steps are one example of what differentiates us from our competition.
