I feel under the weather.
I had to go to the ER on Sunday with severe abdominal pain. The next day I found out I had chicken pox, which is a lot worse as an adult. I have high fever and I am covered with lesions, especially on my face. It is so painful and the itching is terrible.
Forgive me friends, I won’t be present as much on social media because of this.
Any advice or suggestion on dealing with chicken pox?
Thank you lovelies ♥️
Digger watching - a perfect chicken pox quarantine activity. After a miserable night for my boy (and me) we needed the fresh air and distraction.
Depressingly I realised this morning that, so far this year, I’ve lost four working weeks to sick kids and four working weeks due to me being ill. All whilst still paying for our standard childcare AND, when I was recovering from hospital, paying for some additional days.
I’ve only written one article and, three months in, feel like I’ve totally failed on my professional and personal goals for 2019.
I know I’m still hashtag fucking blessed (genuinely I do know this) and it will get better... But still, as a more articulate person than me once said “fuck this fucking shit”. 🙄😩😴
I’m out tonight, thank god, with my beloved @colbergzoe visiting from Hong Kong... even in tricky times margaritas with a best friend are always a good idea. 😀 🍸 .

•THE SUNDAYEST THURSDAY•
Today feels like Sunday, up and nowhere to go, so it’s lounge wear for me today.
Cooper is still getting over chickenpox so another chilled day at home for us. Usually on a Thursday I like to make plans to get dressed up, put my face on to go out. On my day off I like having plans so I don’t feel like it’s being wasted, but sometimes it is just nice to get up, get the housework done, pull on some comfies, not to have to make the effort to put makeup on and have nowhere to be. 🖤
I normally don’t tread into politics much? But this is the governor of MY state- @govmattbevin
He’s absolutely stunned me by his actions & his comments to the nation! He’s saying he’s AGAINST the government mandating VACCINATIONS? You have NO IDEA who and what your putting at risk by the statements you made.
Also? PURPOSELY GIVING YOUR CHILD A DISEASE? You put YOUR CHILDREN AT RISK for something MORE than just possibly risking their lives by allowing that to happen! You ALSO just gave 9 of your kids SHINGLES to contend with in later life, if not sooner! Hopefully they DO get the vaccination for that once they are eligible for it.
Finally? Isn’t that CHILD ABUSE that you just admitted to? If MYSELF or ANYONE in OUR STATE admitted to doing that? You better believe CPS would be visiting anyone’s home & quite possibly taking their children! By you doing that- admitting to doing that, you set a very dangerous precedent for others to follow! Some of the population (adult & child) have never had the chicken pox & due to specific health reasons, if contracting it? Could put their lives at risk! IF SOMEONE ELSE publicly admitted to doing what you did? That parent/guardian would be in jail!
And for the RECORD Governor Bevin? There IS a vaccine for Chicken Pox (and Shingles) and it DOES WORK! My daughter @ox.mandie.xo was part of the NATIONWIDE TESTING in the State of Kentucky 23 or so years ago for the Chicken Pox vaccine in its early stages BEFORE our Government APPROVED IT! They have vaccines so as to ERADICATE diseases and have been very successful! But here you are, intentionally infecting your children with diseases. What’s next Governor Bevin? The Ebola Virus? 😡
My beautiful little green eyed girl💜 wish these chickenpox would go away, we counted this morning and she has 413 pox after 6 days. She's such a trooper smiling through it all but it's so irritating for her.
She's super cuddly this week being off school with her mummy but I am so afraid to cuddle her, stroke her hair or back for comfort like we usually do or even pick her up there's just so many spots.😔 I wish I could ease her irritation she ended up in our bed last night, we've tried oat baths, calamine lotion, poxcilin... Giving her children's antihistamines, childrens Tylenol/Calpol for her temperature as she's been running a low fever since Monday... not sure what else to try for her.
How can they be so different Willow was like me, she had just over 20 pox in total and scabbed over after 6 days. Now on day 6 for Cassie and she got over 100 new pox overnight. I feel like Cassie's eczema and steroid Clenil inhaler has something to do with it being worse. All I can do is hold her gently, and try to keep her happy and comfortable 😔 you really do feel so useless as a mum when your babies are poorly like this. I'm just happy she's home with me and not in hospital, it's always so much worse when she's poorly being away from home and everyone we love. (Usually for her asthma she's admitted to hospital but I'm happy it hasn't been a problem this week and she's been more or less okay here at home keeping it all under control no infections or anything too bad... Just the sheer number of them that's alarming to me.) #TwinMomma#CassieElizabeth#love#poorlyToddler#Chickenpox#ChickenPoxSucks#toddler#twin#upset#momlife#mumguilt#motheroftwins#sad#pox#UKDoesntVaccinateChickenPox#IDontKnowWhy#WishTheyWould
\ #chickenpox I fear for those that will suffer importation with the brexit because England is too cold to grow Aloe Vera leaves.

#Chickenpox and the feeling to scratch go hand-in-hand. Here are the top dermatologist-recommended tips for relieving chicken pox symptoms: • Soak in colloidal oatmeal baths. • Apply a topical ointment, such as calamine lotion, petroleum jelly or another fragrance-free, anti-itch lotion. • Consider giving your child an over-the-counter oral antihistamine formulated for children. Always follow the directions on the label, and use the correct dose.
• Keep your child’s fingernails trimmed short. This will help prevent skin infections caused by scratching the blisters. For young children, put socks or mittens over their hands to prevent scratching. Scratching can increase the chances of skin infection and spreading of the virus.
For most healthy children, chickenpox clears on its own without treatment. However, see a board-certified dermatologist if you have a newborn with chickenpox or if your child has a weakened immune system, has trouble breathing or if any of the blisters become infected.
😳😂🤦🏻♂️ #oops#winning#notallheroeswearcapes#science#itsthatsimple#adulting — An Italian politician known for his vocal opposition to a new law mandating that school-aged children be immunized against several diseases, including #chickenpox , has come down with the chickenpox.
Massimiliano Fedriga, a member of the far-right League party, was placed under observation for four days last week after contracting the disease, according to local news outlets.
Fedriga was a chief detractor of the so-called Lorenzin law, which mandates that school-aged children be immunized against chickenpox, #measles , #polio and more. Parents who do not comply can be fined up to $560 for sending their unvaccinated #children to school, and kindergartens and preschools have the option of turning away #kids under 6 years old who haven't received the necessary #immunizations .
The Italian politician claimed in a Facebook: "I have always said that I am in favor of vaccines, but to achieve the result it is necessary to have an alliance with families, not imposition," he said.
Roberto Burioni, a renowned Italian microbiologist, said that he hopes Fedriga's illness will alert other skeptical parents of the advantages of #vaccines .
"If he had infected a pregnant woman we would be facing a malformed child or an abortion," Burioni wrote on Facebook. "The only way we have to avoid such tragedies ... is to inoculate everyone to prevent the circulation of this dangerous virus, which could have hit a more vulnerable person."
Although pox parties operate on the premise that most people who contract chicken pox once never get it again, that doesn't make them safe. "There is no way to tell in advance how severe your child's symptoms will be," the (CDC) noted on its site. "So it is not worth taking the chance of exposing your child to someone with the disease."
Pediatrician Dr. Natasha Burgert told INSIDER it's a "gamble," "It's impossible to predict," she said. "Some kids will just get a few [chicken pox], some will die. You just don't know, so we vaccinate everyone [we can]."

Deluded myself that my 4 year old must have some super human immunity to all childhood deseases as *touch wood* she’s never really had anything more then a cold wrong with her, despite the near daily emails about the latest germ fest spreading through nursery / pre school. But this week the Pox have hit with a vengeance - cue The Greatest Showman cabaret in between conference calls while working from home with my spotty side kick attached to me at all times (she took this photo without me knowing, hence the chinny angle!) . Oh and the youngest is also intermittently puking ( Pox? who knows ) so was also kicked out of Nursery today. Fun week 😳🐓. They are both not too bad in themselves though and enjoying the attention, and I’m enjoying all the cuddles, so could be worse ! #chickenpox#quaranteened#workingparents#distractiontechniques
Thank-you for all your birthday wishes and tags! I didn’t get a pup 🐶😭 but I gotta whole lotta love thrown my way 💚🥰💚
Ps- Ivy is a growing spotty dotty but well in herself full of energy as usual. Fingers crossed chicken pox isn’t too harsh on her, lots of ginger shots for us!!! 🌱🔥 Thankyou for all your thoughtful recommendations sent in! xxx
The day started off with taking Emily to the doctor with confirmed #chickenpox . After getting some #calamine and making sure I had enough #calpol we went home. I was on and off the sofa all day #breastfeeding and #cuddling Emily to make her feel better.
Unfortunately Stephanie was NOT happy about staying in and she was playing up big time. There was a lot of non sharing and tantruming all day. Ian felt so guilty about going to work and leaving me in #quarantine that he came home at 3:45 to take Stephanie to the park. The weather had other ideas, it is Wales after all.

Imagine living in a world, where the arrival of summer every year also marked the beginning of the deaths and paralysis of millions of children and adults around the world.
This was our world before vaccines; before a solution to the Polio problem that was crippling the world. .
Vaccines are a vital development in human history and in recent years we have come to appreciate it's value less as it has vanished our most feared diseases into obscurity. This decrease in acknowledging the importance of vaccines has led to controversial views and conspiracy regarding vaccines that threatens its effectiveness at eradicating misery caused by disease and puts the ultimate goal of achieving a human world without disease at risk.
It is vital we fight this misinformation with factual truth. Vaccines are safe, effective and our only hope at ending disease caused by sickness

Aya mau gak kawannya sakit kayak aya? Dia bilang "gak mau" 😊 anak baik 😁😁😁 #cacarair#chickenpox
In case you missed it, or house is currently inundated with chicken pox. Sam got over his pretty quickly and, to be honest, he must have had a fairly mild dose because he only had about 30 spots. Meg, on the other hand, is completely covered in sores and has been walking around with her arms out like you do when you stupidly sunburn your back on the beach: ‘Ow! Don’t bloody touch me!’. Jack, meanwhile, is a couple of days behind her, so is mainly feeling grotty, coughing lots and wanting copious cuddles. Meg was super screamy last night so @dr_rachel_eyre had to sleep in their room to pat her every hour or so, which means it’s my turn tonight 😰. Here’s hoping we’re over the worst of it, but if not, wish us luck. 🤞🏻 #chickenpox#twins
Poor Juliebug has chicken pox and oatmeal baths are our saving grace today. Right now we are just trying tiake her as comfortable as can be and keep Josie from feeling left out and jealous. I don't wish this on any of you or your kiddos. Hug your babies extra tight. ❤️ I took this photo yesterday morning before she had gotten too many pox and now the poor thing is COVERED. Today we are struggling and so exhausted.
