It’s not often I get cool pictures of myself doing the things I love to do! Like most photographers I’m usual too busy behind the camera to want to get in front of it. But thanks to @codysmmith I actually have proof that I do things!! Not too shabby for a non-photographer 😉 thanks bud. This is out at McCain Valley off the I-8. Super sweet little spot with lots of rocks for practicing your trials skills and mouth-watering single track in every direction.
Today was one of my favourite days all year.
With these kids it’s known that either A) we are probably going to get lost or B) our plans are going to go completely NOT according to schedule. //
We started out early this morning with the plan of visiting Lisbon and Forest Falls in Graskop 🇿🇦. Halfway to the falls we discovered that we were all hungry so I suggested that we go to Potluck Boskombuis (bush kitchen) because I had heard that the food and setting was amazing. So we arrived there after a little over an hour of driving and were blown away by this restaurant in the middle of nowhere with really tasty South African food (I had the pap, Sheba sauce and veggies #veganoption), cold drinks and tables alongside the Blyde River. We also happened to bump into @somisha17 which was totally unplanned and crazy considering we were in the middle of nowhere with no cell reception or anything 😂 After lunch and a little river swimming, we decided that instead of going to any of the planned waterfalls, we would rather take the trail to Fann Falls which heads out from the restaurant and we had seen the sign on the way in. It is a waterfall we had literally NEVER heard of in our entire year of Mpumalanga exploring and it had never come up on any of our Google searches for waterfalls! It was such a great trail (5km return really easy and flat) that followed the river, passing ferns and wildflowers and rolling hills along the way. Eventually we came to the waterfall which was much more impressive than we had anticipated and we then had the task of massive boulder hopping/ climbing to get near to the waterfall. We later saw that there was a really simple path to just stroll almost up to the waterfall but we always make things more exciting 😂 It was a totally unplanned planned day and was one of the best ways to spend one of my last days in Mpumalanga 💜🌞 Also, sometimes pictures become blurry and non-perfect especially when you’re having fun and living in the moment and then I didn’t really care that the quality wasn’t the greatest because I was having the best time 🙏 #friendslikethese#tribe

tender times with this move. I must remember that carving space for adventure and open air invites sanity.
