⭕️LATERAL RAISES: WHY IT’S EASIER TO DO THRM WITH BENT ARMS⭕️
SWIPE LEFT TO SEE MORE!
Leverages: The longer the arms, the "worse" and more difficult it will be.
Classic lateral raises require your arms to be fully extended, with your arms coming up to the sides. Maximal muscle contraction happens at 90+ degrees, so until that actual point, you're not even providing enough stimulus to your shoulders yet. Now, unless we're using very light weight, it becomes extremely difficult to raise the dumbbells up to that point without using momentum, and that's because of the fact that our arms are "too long" to be able to hold the weight without putting lots of stress on your shoulder joints. Just like a long pool trampoline will bend if we put a weight to it. Major reason why you get shoulder pain.
Instead, by creating an angle and reducing the arm leverage, it becomes way easier to hold the weight and provide the right stimulus to your shoulders. The shorter the arm leverage, the more favorable it will be.

We don't mind a wintry stroll when it's in pretty Prague. Afterward, warm up at @fsprague's Gallery bar with some cranberry-infused vodka. Share with #ForbesTravelGuide for a chance to be featured! #Regram: @doounias
